A Call From Abroad.

The phone was ringing. He picked up the phone on the third ring. It was a call from abroad. After greetings, the foreigner got straight to the point.

A: - We’d like to buy 50 pieces fuel tankers.

B: - Well. Will you buy all at once?

A: - No. We are planning to purchase in 3 batches.

B: - How many pieces each time?

A: - The first batch should be 5 pieces. How long will take the production?

B: - Well, It depends. We usually give 60 - 80 days as a delivery time. When are you going to make advance payment?

A: - If we agree, we can transfer the money at the end of this month.

B: - We can supply the 5 units in 70 days if we get the order till the beginning of the next month.

A: - A bit late. But I think it will do the job.

B: - And, the second order?

A: - Th second batch, 20 tankers, will be confirmed until mid-year.

B: - Is there any deadline for delivery?

A: - We need to get them till the end of the year.

B: - I think we can deliver untill that time, but I should discuss with production department. Do you have a chance to make the order earlier?

A: - Yes. Latest date is 30th of June. We’ll try to do it 1 or 2 months earlier.

B: - Then we can agree I suppose. And the last 25?

A: - We’ll discuss that batch after receiving 20 units.

B: - I see. Then you will purchase only 25 this year, right?

A: - Yes, it seems so. The half of the order may remain to the next year.

B: - If we deliver 20 in short time, is it possible for you to buy the remained 25 at the end of this year?

A: - I can’t say it now. I should discuss.

B: - Ok.

A: - Anyway. After receiving your price offer according to this schedule, we’ll have a meeting with our partners and let you know the result. So we’re waiting for your best quotation and payment terms.

B: - Ok. Today or tomorrow we’ll send you our offer.

A: - Thank you for your support. Hope we’ll start a good cooperation.

B: - Thank you, too. I hope the same.
